Veronica chamaedrys
A perennial for hedgerows and partial shade. Height 10cm. Purple flowers April-June. Creeping plant, forming a beautiful carpet of colour in Spring.
Provides nectar for various insects, but particularly solitary bees, including the Red-girdled Mining Bee.
Food plant - Little Long-horn moth, sometimes hosts Heath Fritillary caterillars.
